Orchid Bure

Being perched high the Orchid Bure captures both the garden and ocean view with cool tropical breezes. Should you get tired of that view it is partially fronted by Golden Palms where you can watch birds and butterflies playing in the palm fronds. The lovely white sand beach below us with gorgeous snorkeling is about a 2 minute walk from the property.

The Orchid room offers the same level of privacy that is the hallmark of Makaira. The lower story of the building is not inhabited to ensure peace and privacy for our Orchid guests.

Marlin Cottage

The Marlin Cottage is designed to highlight the panoramic views of this beautiful location that gently slopes to a point between two white sandy beaches.

It is ideally suited for a couple or a single.  Amenities include  King Size bed, private dipping pool, breakfast, kitchenette in dining/ living area, Wifi, private phone, flat screen TV with USB movie library.

The cottage is accented with tiled floors, open beam wood ceiling,  flyscreens, mosquito net if needed, large deck, fan, spacious indoor hot water bath/shower that also captures all the views in privacy, and a cool refreshing outside jungle shower set in lava rock  within a tropical garden.

Grander Suite

The Grander is our most versatile accommodation. It is a 2  bedroom  2 bath accommodation that can  accommodate 4 friends,  or two couples, or a family with  older children by converting the second bedroom  from the King size bed  with twin beds.

The lounge area leads to a sun deck with a private dipping pool in the middle. The Grander  is finely appointed with imported tiles, wood ceilings, rich fabrics and ethnically accented in local arts and crafts.

Each room was built to capture the spectacular panoramic ocean views from the time you wake up in the morning until you close your eyes at night when the gentle sound of waves will lull one into a restful night’s sleep.

Ocean View Villa

The Ocean View Villa is the crowning jewel of  Makaira.  It is ideal for those romantics looking for affordable luxury with its Master Bedroom Suite with King Size bed, a huge bathroom with a  bath tub built for two and open shower, secret garden, private dipping pool, additional outside jungle shower with steps leading into the main bathroom and into the Master Suite.  .

The split level design affords an infinity view from the Master Bedroom Suite and 3 steps down lead to the Beach room for another infinity view which leads out to an open deck to your private plunge pool.    Aside from being a romantic getaway the Villa can also comfortably (with a little less privacy) accommodate 4  people with 1 or 2 additional single beds, eg for families with children above 8 years old, or friends traveling together wishing to enjoy the numerous activities Makaira and Taveuni have to offer.
